The NHTP Youth Repertory program is designed for students ages 8–17 who have a serious commitment to the theatre arts and are interested in a pre-professional drama experience. Participation is by audition only, and actors are accepted into the company for the entire school year. All rehearsals and classes are mandatory. Youth Repertory Company members have additional opportunities to participate in master classes with national and international artists, in-school touring programs, seminars in theatre history and dramatic literature, and internships in directing, acting, technical theatre, and drama in education.

Senior Youth Repertory Company
For ages 13-17
For experienced, disciplined students who are seriously interested in the craft of acting. Mandatory commitment is one night per week September to March, and one-three nights per week in April and May. Fall session focuses on acting technique, vocal & physical training and scene study. In the spring, company members rehearse a full-length classical theatre performance
with professional production design and support.
Past productions include Mother Courage by Bertolt Brecht, The Skin of Our Teeth by Thornton Wilder, Stage Door by Edna Ferber and George S. Kaufman, William Shakespeare’s Hamlet, The Tempest, The Comedy of Errors, Macbeth and Twelfth Night, Idiot’s Delight by Robert Sherwood, The Madwoman of Chaillot by Jean Giraudoux, and Harvey by Mary Chase.

Junior Youth Repertory Company
For ages 10-15 |
The Junior Company is designed for students who do not have the performing experience or time availabity to participate in the Senior Company. Mandatory commitment is one afternoon per week September to December, with some additional rehearsals scheduled January to April. The Junior Company works on acting skills, monologues and scene study in the fall, and presents a full-length production based on classic literature in the spring.
In April, the Junior Company will perform a number of shorter pieces to make up a full length production entitled Buckets of Butterfles: Stories of Hope from the Past & Future.
Past performances have included Revenge of the Space Pandas, by David Mamet, Macbeth's Children by Michael Bettencourt, Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Ernie's Incredible Illucinations by Alan Ayckbourn, C.S. Lewis’ The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe, Our Town by Thornton Wilder, King Arthur's Court and Challenging Athena: A Tapestry of Greek Myths, both by Genevieve Aichele.

Story Theatre Troupe
For ages 8-14 |
This new addition to our Youth Repertory Companies is geared towards students interested in making more of a commitment to theatre but who do not yet have the experience for the Junior Repertory Company. Students will learn acting skills, stage presence, and theatre terminology through story theatre, an ensemble performance technique based on children’s literature, traditional tales, and original writing. The Story Theatre Troupe performances will be open to the public on November 21 and 28.

The
NHTP Youth Repertory Company will hold auditions for the 2009/10
Junior and Senior companies on September 9 & 10, 2009 from 4-7pm.
Please prepare two contrasting monologues (one classical), total length no more than 4 minutes. Monologues must be memorized. You must be accompanied by your parent or guardian. Please bring a headshot and resume if you have one.
